DAYS/HOURS:  Monday through Friday, 5:45 am - 1:15 pm


Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field. 


Under the supervision of an LCADC or other licensed clinician, provides individual, group and family counseling services to patients as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.  Documents services as per clinic policy and procedure. 


Completes assessment of each patient using approved assessment tools.

Prepares and implements patient’s treatment plan and quarterly treatment plan reviews with input from treatment team and the patient. 

Reviews patient rights and responsibilities and individual treatment requirements with all patients on his/her caseload.

Provides individual counseling in accordance with the patient’s needs, treatment plan and Phase System.

Documents patient’s progress on a regular basis in accordance with clinic policy and procedure. 

Provides group counseling and education as appropriate.

Makes and coordinates referrals to specialized programs and services on-site as needed.

Makes and coordinates referrals to other health, social and legal services as needed.

Reviews forms with patient and obtains patient signatures as required.

Chairs treatment team meetings and provides information on each patient in accordance with clinic policy and procedure.

Responsible for implementing treatment team decisions and coordinating patient care. Advocates for patients when applicable.

Facilitates the transition/discharge process, including arrangements for follow-up services.

Arranges for guest medication or special takehomes for patients as necessary and in accordance with clinic policy and procedure.



DAYS/HOURS:  Flexible hours and days


High school diploma or equivalency required; post-high school coursework preferred.   Valid NJ driver’s license and vehicle required. 

Must have three (3) years of recovery and experience in the principals of recovery that assist individuals to improve their health and wellness.  Knowledge of, and/or participation in medication-assisted treatment (past or current) is a plus.


In collaboration with the program participant, develop a Recovery Plan which should include culturally competent and relevant services that identifies goals with measureable objectives, assesses strengths that can be used to work towards those goals, identifies barriers that can inhibit goal attainment, and monitors the progress made attaining those goals.

Provide an initial face-to-face meeting and telephone support and maintain follow-up during pregnancy and one year after birth with a minimum of two (2) face-to-face or telephone contacts per month.

Educate participants on how to appropriately navigate treatment, social services and recovery support systems.

Provide recovery support services based on the participant’s preferences and her family’s assessed needs.

Work collaboratively with the Case Manager to ensure the participant engages in services for herself, and her infant for up to one year.

Be a positive role model by sharing experiential knowledge, hope and skills.

Maintain relationship with the participant in order to assist her in treatment engagement and retention.

Reinforce, guide and ensure the participant that recovery is possible and is built on multiple strengths, coping abilities, and resources or each individual.
